Development of a cycling inclusive network in the city of Lida with the total lenght of 10 km


Date: April 2018 - November 2018
Location: Belarus, Grodno region
Type of services: Preparation of design and estimate documentation for the development of inclusive cycling network in the city of Lida with the total length of 10 km and obtainance of all necessary approvals and special permits for the project from all the interested parties, including local executive bodies, road safety units, city cycling community, etc. Author's supervision during the construction stage. 
Project description: The project provides for the design and construction of a bicycle path with leisure infrastructure available for people of different ages and physical abilities.

Removing Barriers to Wind Power Development in Belarus

Location: Belarus, Grodno and Brest regions
Type of services:

Organizational work:
- Creating a legal entity, holding a bidding to select an engineering company for development of pre-design and design documentation;
- Operations management of Wind Private Finance Organization, monitoring implementation of activities to create pre-investment assets;
- Preparation of reporting materials under the project.

Technical work:
- Screening of the sites for construction of Wind Power Turbine (WPT) that includes analysis of site potential, grid connection availability, roads and other necessary infrastructure;
- Selection of sites for wind farm construction;
- Ranking of the selected sites;
- Obtaining approvals, permits and technical specifications for the selected sites;
- Measuring wind potential and assessment of the obtained data.

Project description: The project provides support for the removal of barriers to practical implementation of wind power projects in the Republic of Belarus. Creation of conditions for implementation of investment projects on construction of wind farms with a total installed capacity of at least 25 MW.

Design and supervision of the wind turbine construction in the village Grabniki, Novogrudok district

Type of services: Provision of consultancy services on the project, including preparation of the design documentation and technical specifications, asistance in tendering process, adaptation of the design documents to the selected equipment, and construction activity /supervision.
Project description: Project includes the construction of a wind power plant with the capacity of 2.5 MW. 

Construction of a biomass energy source in Smorgon (Grodno region), Kalinkovichi (Gomel region), Starye Dorogi (Minsk region), Bereza (Brest region), Belarus

Type of services: Development of Feasibility study.
Project description: Project targets include the following:

  • Implementation of the World Bank project "Analysis of energy efficiency opportunities in heating system”;

  • Improvement of country energy security due to the increased use of its own energy resources.

Project can be described by the following features:

  • Analysis of thermal loads and existing energy requirements;

  • Equipment selection operating in heating cycle:
    - electric capacity is 4 MW and thermal capacity is 11,6 Gcal/h (Smorgon);
    - electric capacity is 5,8 MW and thermal capacity is 10,32 Gcal/h (Kalinkovichi);
    - electric capacity is 1,98 MW and thermal capacity is 8,6 Gcal/h (Starye Dorogi);
    - electric capacity is 0,3 MW and thermal capacity is 1,55 Gcal/h (Bereza);

  • Calculation of economic efficiency of the project;

  • Environmental Impact Assessment.

The estimation of technological and economic potential of timber Processing Complex biomass utilization in the Far-Eastern federal District of Russian Federation for the production of electric and thermal energy

Project description: 
Analysis of biomass sources and development of bioenergetics objects layout.
The project provided:
The estimation of technological and economic potential of biomass for electric and thermal energy production (9 regions of the Far-Eastern Federal District); 
Comparative analysis of electric and thermal energy production technologies, selection with subsequent determination of the most energy-efficient;
Defining bioenergetics objects, whole capacity for electric and thermal energy production is 701 MW;
Calculation of economy efficiency indicators for each proposed energy source;
Assessment of the transport component impact on the energy cost;                           Environmental impact assessment.

Energy Saving in the Building Sector in Eastern Europe and the Central Asian Countries (ESIB) in the framework INOGATE: sustainable energy efficient urban planning at the principles of green economy including feasibility study for c. Brest

Type of services: Activity on technical assistance for energy efficient school construction and sustainable energy efficient urban planning at the principles of green economy including feasibility study for c. Brest.
Project description: The project includes development of conception for sustainable energy-efficient urban planning and development of a standard energy-efficient module with a high quality of the environment for the population with integration to the design of a new district in Brest.

Energy efficiency and renewable energy for sustainable water management in Turkmenistan


Date: 2016 – 2018
Location: Turkmenistan, Ahal Province, Kaka District
Type of services: The main task is supporting the Project team, which includes engineers of pilot municipal investment project in the town of Kaka. Controlling the quality of the design of gravity water system, providing advice and quality control in the implementation of the water supply system. 
Project description: The project includes the installation of pipeline for urban water supply in Kaka, with replacement of non-isolated channels and wells. The project focuses on scaling-up investment in improved water management infrastructure. It is intended to achieve 2 related outcomes: 

  1. Reduction of water losses and associated energy consumption via direct investment in a large-scale infrastructure project on municipal water supply; 

  2. Technical, environmental, and financial justification to scale-up investment in canal linings and/or other widespread infrastructure improvements to reduce water losses, associated energy consumption, and land degradation.
